This activity contains 10 metal insets. Insets are in blue color while frames are in pink color. To help the child acquire proficiency in using a writing instrument, including lightness of touch, evenness of pressure, continuity if line, and familiarity with the curves and angles found in letters.

The metal insets consist of five curved-line figures and five straight-line figures: pentagon, oval, curvilinear triangle, square, triangle, rectangle, ellipse, circle, quatrefoil, and trapezoid.
